The urban center of the Basel Area, which is directly adjacent to Baselland, is already operating at full capacity. The Birstal, Leimental and Rheintal sub-regions bordering the canton of Basel-Stadt are very Basel-oriented and enjoy the typical advantages of an agglomeration, such as good transport links, many jobs, a wide range of leisure, cultural and health facilities and a range of day-care centers.
