Excellent vocational schools anchored in the economy

The top training courses are complemented by excellent vocational schools anchored in the economy. These include the commercial and industrial vocational schools in Liestal and Muttenz, the health vocational schools together with Basel-Stadt and the agricultural and commercial training centers. The aprentas project is an example of how the vocational schools are anchored. It was founded in October 2000 by the companies Ciba (now BASF Schweiz AG), Novartis and Syngenta. Today, aprentas trains around 500 apprentices in 15 different professions (scientific, technical and commercial professions). The trainees come from the sponsoring companies Novartis and Syngenta as well as from the more than 70 member companies.
