Since opening in the summer, the Hortus building in Allschwil has almost completely filled up: With the US life sciences company Viatris and the software company Swiss Aviation Software moving in, almost all the space has been taken up. In addition, construction of the “All” building on the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area is progressing according to plan. The Botnar Institute of Immune Engineering will move in at the beginning of 2027.

The Main Campus of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area in Allschwil continues its successful growth trajectory. With the recent arrival of the life sciences company Viatris and the software company Swiss Aviation Software, the HORTUS building is now almost fully occupied. Together with Becton Dickinson, the three companies employ more than 350 people and give the site additional dynamism.

The US company Viatris, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, has established central research and development activities at HORTUS. The Allschwil site offers an innovation-friendly environment with proximity to excellent research and a strong life sciences ecosystem.

Also new to the HORTUS is Swiss Aviation Software, an international provider of specialized IT systems for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul. As part of the Lufthansa Technik Group, the company brings additional technological expertise to the Main Campus.

Becton Dickinson (BD), a global medtech company headquartered in the USA, has been based at HORTUS since the summer. BD develops and produces medical devices, diagnostic solutions and laboratory instruments, thereby making a significant contribution to the further development of modern healthcare.

Companies with smaller or flexible space requirements also benefit from the location: The DSpace coworking space in HORTUS still has vacant offices and individual workstations available.

At the same time, the construction of the “ALL” building on the Main Campus is progressing according to plan and the shell has largely been completed. The Botnar Institute of Immune Engineering will move in at the beginning of 2027 and further strengthen the site. Laboratory space for spin-offs of the institute will also be created in the building.
